Neon Pill, Cage the Elephant's latest album, and a lengthy North American tour have been confirmed.

The band's sixth full-length album, Neon Pill, will be released by RCA Records on May 17. The album, which has twelve tracks, was created after a string of tragic occurrences that included the loss of multiple close friends and family members, including Matthew and Brad Shultz's father as well as Matthew's mental collapse.

Matthew says, “To me, Neon Pill is the first record where we were consistently uninfluenced, and I mean that in a positive way. Everything is undoubtedly expressed through having settled into finding our own voice. We’ve always drawn inspiration from artists we love, and at times we’ve even emulated some of them to a certain degree. With this album, having gone through so much, life had almost forced us into becoming more and more comfortable with ourselves. We weren’t reaching for much outside of the pure experience of self expression, and simultaneously not necessarily settling either. We just found a uniqueness in simply existing.”

The album's lead track, "Neon Pill," was released as a preview by Cage the Elephant last month. They've released "Out Loud," a second preview, in tandem with their announcement of their album and tour.

Over 45 gigs make up the band's supporting North American tour, which also includes stops at Oceans Calling, Hangout Music Festival, and Bonnaroo. For most of the next tour dates, Young the Giant will be the primary support act.

American rock group Young the Giant was founded in Irvine, California, in 2004. Lead vocalist Sameer Gadhia, guitarists Jacob Tilley and Eric Cannata, bassist Payam Doostzadeh, and drummer Francois Comtois make up the lineup of the band. Roadrunner Records signed Young the Giant, then known as the Jakes, in 2009, and the group released their self-titled first album the following year in 2010. "My Body," "Cough Syrup," and "Apartment," the band's first three singles, all appeared on the US Alternative Songs list.

Also joining the tour is Bakar.

Known for his avant-garde indie rock sound, Bakar released the mixtape Badkid in May 2018 as his professional solo debut. He released "Hell n Back" in 2019, which is the song that people most often associate him with. On February 25, 2022, he released his debut album, Nobody's Home. On September 22, 2023, he issued Halo, his second album.
